UPSC prelims metro services May 24 2026: DMRC advances start time on three lines
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced UPSC prelims metro services May 24 2026 , saying train services on Line 7, Line 8 and Line 9 will begin at 6 am on Sunday to help candidates reach examination centres.
Services on these three corridors normally begin at 7 am on Sundays; the start time has been advanced by one hour for the exam day. Trains will run at a 15-minute frequency between 6 am and 7 am , after which the normal Sunday timetable will resume.

DMRC named the affected corridors as Line 7 (Pink Line), Line 8 (Magenta Line) and Line 9 (Grey Line). The Pink Line links Majlis Park and Shiv Vihar . The Magenta Line operates between Krishna Park Extension and Botanical Garden , and also between Deepali Chowk and Majlis Park , while the Grey Line runs between Dhansa Bus Stand and Dwarka .
Services will commence from terminal stations on these lines at 6 am on May 24, 2026 , with trains scheduled every 15 minutes until the regular timetable takes over at 7 am .
Impact on commuters: UPSC prelims metro services May 24 2026 and general passengers
The DMRC said the arrangement is intended to ensure "smooth travel" so candidates can reach UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination centres without inconvenience. No special pass or permit is required for candidates; the early services are available to all commuters.
All other Delhi Metro lines will operate as per the regular Sunday schedule from 6 am onwards. Normal frequencies and services on non-affected lines remain unchanged.
The early-start plan is a targeted operational change for the exam day and will not alter fares or the wider Sunday timetable beyond the 6–7 am window on Lines 7, 8 and 9.
Commuters planning to travel to UPSC exam centres should allow extra time for last-mile travel and station entry procedures. Check regular DMRC advisories on the morning of May 24 for any updates to services.
