    The Staff Selection Commission has released the official SSC CGL 2026 notification, announcing 12,256 vacancies across Group B and Group C posts. The online registration window opened on May 21, 2026 and will remain active until June 22, 2026 on the official SSC portal.

    SSC CGL 2026: key dates and who can apply

    Candidates must meet the educational requirement of a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. The age eligibility will be determined using August 1, 2026 as the cut‑off date; age limits vary by post. New applicants should complete the One‑Time Registration (OTR) before filling the form.

    SSC CGL 2026: exam pattern, fees and selection

    The selection involves two computer‑based tests. Tier‑I will be a CBT of 200 marks with a duration of one hour (60 minutes) . There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer. Tier‑II will include subject papers and post‑specific tests such as statistics and finance & economics where applicable.

    The final allotment of posts will follow a merit‑cum‑preference system submitted by candidates.

    Fee details are: General/OBC/EWS Rs 100 ; women, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex‑Servicemen are exempted. Candidates can edit applications after payment by paying correction charges as per SSC rules.

    The drive covers popular posts including Assistant Section Officer, Inspector of Income Tax, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub‑Inspector (CBI/NIA), Junior Statistical Officer, Auditor, Accountant, Postal Assistant and Tax Assistant.

    Exams will be held across multiple centres in India, including Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Jaipur, Guwahati and Hyderabad.
