Vacancies, centres and fees
UPSC has announced 451 vacancies through CDS 2 and 394 vacancies for NDA 2. The CDS written exam will be held at 84 test centres; the NDA paper is scheduled at 86 centres across the country.
Application fees are Rs 200 for CDS (general candidates) and Rs 100 for NDA. Female candidates and those from SC and ST categories are exempt from the CDS fee.
Exam pattern and selection
CDS written test includes three papers: English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics. Each CDS paper carries 100 marks and the duration is two hours per paper.
For NDA, Mathematics is 300 marks and the General Ability Test is 600 marks . The SSB interview carries 900 marks for final selection. Negative marking applies to all objective questions.
