UCEED 2026 BDes Round 1 seat withdrawal window open April 30–May 11, 2026

IIT Bombay opened the UCEED 2026 BDes Round 1 seat withdrawal window on April 30; it closes on May 11, 2026, 6:00 PM . If you accepted an allotted seat and paid the seat acceptance fee, you can withdraw only via the official UCEED portal at uceed.iitb.ac.in.

UCEED 2026 BDes Round 1 seat withdrawal: Who can withdraw

Only candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1, accepted it and paid the seat acceptance fee are eligible to withdraw. Withdrawals must be initiated through your registered login on the official UCEED portal. If you withdraw in Round 1, you will not be considered for any subsequent rounds.

Round 1 seat allotment was announced on April 21, 2026 , and the payment deadline for acceptance was April 29, 2026, 6:00 PM . The UCEED BDes admission process has five rounds (Rounds I to V) across seven institutes including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur.

UCEED 2026 BDes Round 1 seat withdrawal: Refunds and fees

Refunds will be processed to the original payment account within 7–10 business days after you complete withdrawal on the portal. A processing charge of ₹5,000 is deducted from the refund.

    • GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates receive ₹55,000 (after ₹5,000 deduction).
    • SC/ST/PwD candidates receive ₹10,000 (after ₹5,000 deduction).

Only candidates who paid the seat acceptance fee in Rounds I and II are eligible to claim refunds up to the Round II withdrawal deadline ( June 9, 2026, 6:00 PM ). Seat acceptance fees paid in Rounds III, IV and V are non-refundable.

Freeze, float and what this means for your options

If you accepted a seat you could choose to freeze (keep the seat and exit further rounds) or float (accept and remain eligible for an upgrade). The float option stays active until the Round IV payment end date on June 28, 2026 , allowing upgrade attempts in later rounds.

Be aware that withdrawing from Round 1 removes you from the allocation process entirely. If you want to remain eligible for upgrades, consider the float option instead of withdrawal.
